Q: Does this product work on all SharePoint libraries?

A: Yes, this product will work with all types of document libraries including picture libraries. The code adds a menu item to the base document library.

Q: Why doesn’t this product work with lists as well?

A: Our product team didn’t see much value in building a multi-action utility for list items.

Q: Why don’t you use the SharePoint 2010 look and feel when it comes to selecting documents?

A: We designed the first version of the Multi-Action utility to work with the SharePoint 2007 look and feel. We didn’t want to introduce checkboxes until the 2010 product comes out, at which time we will have a 2010 version of our product.

Q: Does this work on 64bit machines?

A: Yes, we compiled the product for both 32 and 64bit architectures.

Q: I want to modify the actions that are shown, how can I do this?

A: Great! We love when people want to extend our products, and make them better. But unfortunately right now the licensing that is on the product does not allow us to release the source code. Q: Do you support upgrading to SharePoint 2010?

A: Absolutely, we hope to have our beta version of the product out by the end of Q1 2010.

SharePoint Document Libraries provide a great way to work with individual files. However, they lack certain features when working with a group of files. The Multi-File Action (MFA) 1.0 tool from Netwoven compliments SharePoint’s rich capabilities and makes it easy to work with groups of files in a document library. It is a Share-Point utility that integrates well with the SharePoint framework to provide the following capabilities:

• Ability to download a group of files as a zip file
• Ability to drag and drop the selected files
• Ability to email the zip file

Pricing

• The MFA 1.0 is available FREE of charge for anyone until December 31st, 2009.  Maintenance charges will be $70 per year.  The purchase of the annual support provides any updates free for the entire year.
• The list price of the MFA utility will be $350 per Web Front End Server (WFE) with additional 25% annual maintenance.

• Windows SharePoint Services 2007 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007
• Windows Server 2003 or later
• .Net 3.5 or higher
• 1 Gigabyte of RAM

Client Requirements:

• Silverlight 3.0
