Every user synchronized from on-prem Active Directory onto office 365 must use their UPN (UserPrincipalName) to login to any of the O365 services. However if an organization having a very old operational Active Directory probably be using NETBIOS (domain\user) way of login to on premise workstations/applications. Updating Azure dirsync tool to Azure Active Directory Sync Service (WAAD Sync)

Microsoft had released the initial dirsync tool to synchronize on premise AD user to office 365 and till recently, they updated the tool to support password synchronization. However in Feb 2015, Microsoft has released a completely different service – Microsoft Azure Active Directory Sync Services (AADSync). Azure Active Directory Sync allows you to onboard to Azure Active Directory and Office 365 with a single forest or multi forest on-prem Active Directory.

Update Office 365 technical contact for error reporting

By default, Office 365 sends all service related mail alerts to all global administrators associated for that tenant except the Directory Sync error reporting which is sent to only the technical contact for that tenant.

In most scenarios, a person who sets up the tenant and performs the initial migration/synchronisation is usually configured to the tenant Technical Contact. However, once the Tenant is configured and migrations are completed, it is desirable that someone from the company administrator needs to receive these mail alerts and thus the need to assign technical contact for the tenant. Hence to configure the technical contact for your tenant, follow these steps.

Exchange Cut-Over Migration to Office 365

Overview: 

An organization can migrate a maximum of 1,000 Exchange 2003, Exchange 2007, or Exchange 2010 mailboxes to the cloud using a cutover Exchange migration. To migrate more than 1,000 Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2007 mailboxes, you can perform a staged Exchange migration. You can’t migrate Exchange 2010 mailboxes using a staged Exchange migration.
